Trump Proposes Dana White for White House Press Secretary Position

On Saturday, President Donald Trump revealed that he has offered the press secretary position to Dana White, the president of UFC.

“I am thrilled to announce that the incredible Dana White, a fierce Fighter and Warrior, has been asked to take on the role of Press Secretary for the United States. I have urged him to bring along assistants, some of whom are not from our country, including Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes, and Kayla Harris,” Trump shared on Truth Social.

“We require these champions to protect us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will serve as a Press Secretary like no other. Dana, please accept this position! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

The post showcased an image of White standing behind the White House briefing room podium, accompanied by photos of the proposed mixed martial arts fighter assistants.

Trump and White have fostered a strong personal and professional bond. Trump’s properties were among the first venues to host UFC fights, aiding the organization’s growth during its initial struggles. White was an early supporter of Trump’s 2016 campaign and has spoken at multiple Republican National Committee events.

Throughout the years, Trump has participated in numerous UFC events, both during his presidency and while campaigning. Highlights include a groundbreaking six-fight event held on the White House lawn earlier this year.

The press secretary position has been unoccupied since August when Karoline Leavitt resigned. Katie Zacharia briefly held the role from October 12 to October 16, 2026, marking the shortest tenure for any press secretary.

As of Saturday afternoon, White had not made a public comment regarding the offer. The White House has yet to verify the announcement or provide further details on its status. Reports indicate uncertainty over whether Trump’s statement was a formal offer or if White had engaged with the president on the topic.

This announcement comes amid ongoing changes in staffing at the White House. On Friday, Trump revealed that Stephen Miller would be stepping in as White House Chief of Staff, succeeding Suzie Wiles, with further adjustments anticipated.
