Trump Celebrates Arrival of One Million Barrels of Venezuelan Oil

On Tuesday, President Trump proudly announced that the first shipment of one million barrels of Venezuelan oil, part of a landmark energy agreement, has arrived in the United States.

The oil tanker Angerona docked in Corpus Christi, Texas, where Trump is set to visit during a campaign appearance, along with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, as they rally support for Republican Senate hopeful Ken Paxton.

Trump expressed his excitement, stating, “We took over Venezuela very successfully, and they’ve sent me as a gift a boatload of a million barrels of oil, and I’m giving that to the United States of America,” further assuring reporters that this would lead to a significant drop in oil prices.

In a post on Truth Social, he highlighted his upcoming rally, declaring, “I am traveling to Corpus Christi, Texas to a PACKED Rally, where the United States of America will receive ONE MILLION BARRELS of VENEZUELAN OIL as a result of our Highly Successful Military Operation…”

He noted that this shipment is just the beginning, stating, “This is just the first shipment of BILLIONS of Barrels to come.” Trump’s focus on energy dominance from America’s resources to Venezuela aims to make the Western Hemisphere an energy powerhouse.

A White House representative confirmed that the shipment was “provided to the United States for free, at no cost to the taxpayer” and described it as the first of many barrels to follow. During the rally, Trump pointed to the tanker, underscoring its significance from Venezuela.

In his address to supporters, Trump praised the delivery as a turning point, stating, “This historic win gives us control over a massive part of the world’s oil supply,” emphasizing its eventual processing in Texas facilities.

This shipment is celebrated as a result of the military operation that successfully ousted Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro in January 2026.

Since then, the U.S. has established cooperation with the interim government led by acting President Delcy Rodríguez. Trump previously announced a deal, negotiated with the assistance of Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, granting the U.S. majority control over an estimated 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves in Venezuela.

The administration clarified that the deal includes governance rights and guaranteed low-cost offtake, with processing taking place at U.S. refineries utilizing American technology. Reports indicate that oil from this arrangement will likely reach U.S. facilities by November.
