Tragic Loss of Beloved Voice Actor at Just 46

Eric Bauza, an Emmy-winning voice actor known for his work with legendary characters such as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, has died at the age of 46.

Bauza passed away at his home in Los Angeles County due to hypertensive cardiovascular disease, with officials confirming the cause as natural.

His family shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, stating he had “passed away suddenly” without detailing further circumstances.

Having carved a niche in animation, Bauza lent his voice to numerous beloved characters including Porky Pig, Tweety, Elmer Fudd, and Marvin the Martian.

His impressive talent won him three Children’s and Family Emmy Awards across 2022, 2023, and 2025, solidifying his status as a top voice actor in Hollywood.

His family fondly remembered Bauza as the “modern voice of iconic ‘Looney Tunes’ characters,” highlighting his remarkable career in an industry where few gain widespread recognition.

His passing has shocked many colleagues who admired his success in achieving a prominent place in voice acting.

Judy Coppage, his manager, expressed her sorrow saying, “Eric was a unique and versatile voice actor loved by everyone he worked with,” as reported in an email to NBC News.

She further remarked, “His sudden passing is a shock to all of us. It’s a profound loss for his family, the animation industry and his fans.”

Bauza’s journey in voicing famous cartoon characters was a fulfillment of a childhood dream, growing up immersed in “Looney Tunes” and honing impressions of the very characters he would later voice professionally.

His love for these classics also stems from deep familial ties, as he shared how these animations helped bridge connections with his Filipino immigrant father and grandfather.

Reflecting on the timeless appeal of the franchise, he once noted its ability to resonate across cultures and languages: “Looney Tunes transcends all languages and all cultures,” he stated during a 2021 interview.

His success was attributed to diligence and a keen eye for the details behind the voices of his favorite characters, developing the vocal range required to portray these icons.

Beyond classic Warner Bros. characters, Bauza showcased his talent in the 2021 film “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” the 2023 hit “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” and the upcoming “Coyote vs. Acme.”
