According to state and corporate reports, the facility will be established on a 1,474-acre site at the Middle Georgia Megasite, located five miles west of Interstate 75, near Macon.
Audi anticipates that this plant will generate around 4,500 jobs while producing premium SUVs, including the Q7, Q8, and Q9 models, for the North American market.
Site preparations are set to begin in 2027, with construction commencing in 2028 and full production projected for 2031. Factors such as market access and workforce availability influenced Audi’s decision to select Georgia as the site for this investment.
Gernot Döllner, Audi’s CEO, expressed confidence in this venture, stating, “We are committed to producing our largest premium SUVs in Macon, Georgia. This is a significant long-term investment because we believe in the American market.”
Additionally, Audi plans to manufacture an extra 25,000 vehicles at the Scout Motors facility currently being built in Blythewood, South Carolina, with some output possibly allocated for export.
