Michigan’s Governor Gretchen Whitmer has put an end to speculations regarding a presidential bid for 2028. In a recent interview with a local Fox station, she stated that she will not be entering the upcoming White House race after her term concludes.
Whitmer shared her thoughts during a conversation with WJBK-TV (Fox 2), emphasizing her intention to take a break once her duties as governor are complete. She mentioned, “There will be a robust group of people running for president; I will not be one of them in 2028, I can tell you that,” while speaking to Fox 2’s Roop Raj.
Looking ahead, Whitmer expressed a desire to reflect on her future before making any decisions about her next steps. She has been in discussions with notable political figures, including former U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and former U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.
