FAA Employee Arrested for Threats Against Trump

Dean DelleChiaie, aged 35, from Nashua, New Hampshire, is in legal trouble after being charged with threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump while serving as a Federal Aviation Administration employee.

He was officially charged with one count of interstate communication of a threat against the president. Following his arrest on May 4, DelleChiaie appeared in U.S. district court in New Hampshire shortly after.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Hampshire detailed that the investigation revealed DelleChiaie’s unsettling internet searches on his FAA-issued computer. These included alarming queries such as “how to get a gun into a federal facility” and “I am going to kill Donald John Trump.”

Disturbing Research and Actions

Moreover, he sought information on the locations and personal details of key government figures, including the Vice President and the Secretary of War, according to records.

After these disturbing searches, DelleChiaie requested the deletion of his search history from the FAA IT department, prompting law enforcement to be notified and leading to his suspension.

Admission and Motive

On February 3, DelleChiaie was questioned by a U.S. Secret Service agent and a Nashua Police officer at his home, where he confessed to his online activities.

He claimed remorse for his actions, explaining he felt compelled by frustrations with the current administration, including the election results and other political matters.

Concerning Materials Found

Investigators discovered that DelleChiaie owned three firearms and had written notes in his apartment with concerning phrases about law enforcement and his intentions.

In an alarming email sent on April 21 to the White House, he stated his intent to harm President Trump, blaming him for broader societal issues. If found guilty, DelleChiaie could face a significant prison sentence of up to five years, along with hefty financial penalties.
