Tributes Pour In For Chad Hasty, 43, Conservative Radio Legend

Chad Hasty, a well-known conservative talk radio figure from West Texas, tragically passed away on Thursday at the young age of 43.

Reportedly, Hasty died peacefully in his sleep that morning, as stated by News/Talk 95.1 & 970 KFYO in Lubbock, where he hosted a daily show. The reason for his passing remains undisclosed.

The Chad Hasty Show was a staple in Texas radio, airing each afternoon on KFYO and reaching audiences statewide. Renowned for sharp political insights, he often featured esteemed guests like Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller and Texas House Speaker Dustin Burrows.

Dan Endom, president of Townsquare Media Lubbock, expressed heartfelt condolences, stating, “Chad was not only a brilliant on-air host, but an even better friend. Our deepest condolences go out to Jennifer and his baby girl, Ava. It’s hard to imagine not seeing his welcoming presence roaming the halls.”

Beginning his career at the Lubbock station in 2003, Hasty originally hosted the morning show before moving to the late-afternoon time slot in 2021. Known for his casual style, he enjoyed baseball hats, premium cigars, and exploring new restaurants, as noted in an obituary.

Dustin Burrows, representing Lubbock, shared his sorrow at Hasty’s passing, saying, “Time and again, he offered me a seat at his microphone and the opportunity to speak directly to the people I serve. He believed in giving leaders a platform – and holding them accountable – and he did both with professionalism, respect, and a healthy dose of humor.”

Governor Greg Abbott also honored Hasty’s contributions, remarking on X: “Every day, Chad showed up to the microphone with conviction, informing Texans on the critical policy and political fights happening in the Legislature and our state.”

Senator Ted Cruz reflected, saying, “Chad was one of the greatest voices in Texas, and his loss will be deeply felt throughout the state.”

Survived by his wife, Jennifer, and one-year-old daughter, Ava, Hasty’s legacy will continue through those he touched.
