A man was apprehended on Tuesday afternoon at Trump National Doral Golf Club after he allegedly confronted U.S. Secret Service agents, disobeyed commands, and made contact with an agent.
The incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. at a security screening area overseen by Secret Service personnel and local law enforcement, as reported by the Miami field office.
The situation escalated when the individual ignored instructions given by the authorities.
Acting Special Agent in Charge Michael Townsend stated, “During the encounter, the individual became disruptive and failed to comply with lawful orders.” He was subsequently taken into custody without further issues.
Video footage shows the suspect being arrested while bystanders reacted, with one observer commenting that he was “getting the business now.”
Authorities have yet to disclose the identity of the man.
The Doral Police arrested him on-site, and he now faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.
Officials emphasized that the disruption was managed swiftly and did not affect current security measures at the location.
According to Townsend, “The president was not on site at the time of the incident.” He reassured that the situation did not impact security arrangements for any future visits to Trump Doral National Golf Club.
Inquiries regarding the suspect and the forthcoming charges have been directed to the Doral Police Department.
