Outrage Erupts Over Democrat’s Distasteful Remarks Targeting JD Vance and Family

A Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Michigan, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, has come under fire after making disparaging remarks about Vice President JD Vance, his wife Usha, and their children during a recent podcast.

El-Sayed’s appearance on The Allen Analysis Show, which aired on Friday, featured mocking comments about the Vances’ marriage and the implications of the vice president’s political stance on his children. He stated, “What do you think is going through Usha’s head when he talks? She’s like, ‘Damn, I have to sleep with him.’”

Continuing in a derogatory vein, El-Sayed remarked about Usha’s pregnancy and suggested Vance would face uncomfortable discussions with his children regarding race. He claimed, “Can you imagine, he’s got Brown kids, at some point he’s going to have a really awkward conversation with his kids, like, you made your career hating people who are different.”

El-Sayed asserted that Vance’s political beliefs conflict with his family dynamics, going so far as to label the vice president’s character as “corrupted” by power.

“He’s got to look at his kids and be like, ‘Yeah, those are Brown kids, they’re mine,’” El-Sayed said, adding, “JD Vance has Brown kids who he thinks are less American than everyone else.”

To further his criticisms, El-Sayed demeaned Vance’s national presence, calling him “the charisma of a doorknob” and suggesting Usha should consider leaving her marriage.

The backlash from conservative commentators was swift and severe, accusing El-Sayed of crossing the line from political debate into troubling personal attacks that bring family members into election conflicts.

Tudor Dixon, a former GOP gubernatorial candidate, voiced her dismay, suggesting that such tactics would not resonate with Michiganders who value family and faith. She stated, “When you’re running on racial division, you have to keep stoking racism, especially if you’re the racist. Imagine smugly trying to break up a family because you don’t believe a White man can love his children. Pretty pathetic, and I think Michigan voters will agree.”

This sentiment was echoed on social media, with Rev. Jordan Wells of Christians Against Antisemitism Institute labeling the comments as personal, cruel, and utterly unacceptable.

Conservative figure Laura Loomer criticized the “derogatory sexual comments,” while Townhall writer Amy Curtis remarked, “Democrats are trash.”

As Michigan prepares for its Democratic Senate primary on August 4, El-Sayed faces competition from state Sen. Mallory McMorrow and Rep. Haley Stevens, with former GOP Rep. Mike Rogers gearing up for the general election.

Fox News Digital has reached out for responses from both Vance’s office and El-Sayed’s campaign.
