IDF Executes Large-Scale Operations Against Hezbollah in Lebanon

Israel has escalated its military actions in Lebanon significantly, carrying out one of its most extensive strikes in the ongoing conflict as a delicate ceasefire hangs by a thread.

The Israel Defense Forces announced that more than 180 members of Hezbollah were killed in a swift operation targeting numerous locations throughout Lebanon. This coordinated strike involved hitting around 100 targets simultaneously across Beirut, southern Lebanon, and the Beqaa Valley.

According to the IDF, the operation was based on detailed and accurate intelligence, focusing on vital Hezbollah infrastructure such as command centers and military facilities crucial for their operations.

Israel’s military emphasized efforts to minimize civilian harm, utilizing precision-guided munitions along with aerial surveillance to lessen impact on non-combatants.

Lt. Col. Nadav Shoshani noted that this massive operation was not spontaneous, but a culmination of ongoing intelligence work over several weeks. Israeli intelligence tracked Hezbollah operatives, monitoring their movements before launching the strikes.

“The timing was influenced by thorough preparations,” Shoshani explained in an interview with Fox News. “There was extensive intelligence gathering involved.”

When asked if the operation indicated Israel’s continued capacity to infiltrate Hezbollah’s network, Shoshani pointed out the scale of the operations.

“We were able to locate 250 terrorists hiding in various locations, eliminating them in real time, which indicates our capabilities,” he stated.

Lebanon’s president, Joseph Aoun, condemned the strikes amidst increasing international concern. United Nations Human Rights Chief Volker Türk described the situation as deeply troubling.

“The level of destruction in Lebanon today is horrific,” Türk remarked, noting the timing in relation to a ceasefire agreement with Iran.

Hezbollah responded with warnings against ongoing aggression from Israel and the U.S.

The recent escalations have broadened the conflict beyond its initial scope, which ignited on February 28 with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian military assets.

Iran retaliated with missile and drone assaults targeting Israel and U.S. positions, also impacting global shipping routes and energy markets.

As Hezbollah’s assaults from Lebanon complicate matters, the war has transformed into a multi-front ordeal across the region.
