DHS Employee Tragically Killed in Random Attack by Immigrant

A shocking series of attacks in DeKalb County, Georgia, left two women dead and one man critically injured. New revelations about the alleged perpetrator, who has a troubling history, are causing alarm.

Among the victims was 40-year-old Lauren Bullis, a passionate runner, who lost her life during these random acts of violence. The assailant, 26-year-old Olaolukitan Adon Abel, was apprehended shortly after, as law enforcement described the sequence of events as seemingly unprovoked.

Brookhaven Police Chief Brandon Gurley stated, “It is apparent to us that this was a completely random attack.” Bullis was working for the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General and was attacked while walking her dog, as confirmed by federal officials.

Abel, who became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2022, is a citizen of the United Kingdom. His actions have raised red flags about the vetting process for immigrants. To read more about the implications, see coverage by Fox News.

The violent episode began at approximately 12:50 a.m. when police discovered the first victim, a woman shot multiple times who later succumbed to her injuries. Hours later, in Brookhaven, a man sleeping outside was targeted and shot multiple times; he remains in critical condition.

The third and fatal attack occurred just before 7 a.m. Bullis was discovered with fatal injuries, both gunshot and stab wounds, with witnesses recalling seeing the suspect running away from the scene.

Authorities utilized license plate recognition technology to locate Abel’s vehicle, a silver Volkswagen Jetta, which led to his capture in Troup County. He now faces multiple charges, including two counts of murder, aggravated assault, and weapon offenses.

Abel’s criminal background is alarming, featuring prior convictions related to sexual battery and assaulting a police officer. Despite the severity of the situation, investigators have yet to disclose a clear motive for his attacks.
