Kamala Harris’s Attempt at a Trump Impersonation Falls Flat

At a recent engagement, former Vice President Kamala Harris attempted a disappointing impression of President Donald Trump while speaking at the National Action Network (NAN) 2026 Convention in New York City.

This multi-day event, moderated partly by Rev. Al Sharpton to commemorate NAN’s 35th anniversary, provided a platform for Harris to address questions regarding Trump’s administration and her political trajectory.

During the discussion, she lambasted Trump’s foreign policy, comparing him to a mafia boss. She then delivered a raspy and incoherent impersonation that hardly resembled the president.

“He kind of, Rev, acts like a mob boss. So then he’s kind of like, ‘Well, you know. You take Eastern Europe and I’ll take the Western Hemisphere. And you over there, you take Asia and we will just divide it up among ourselves.’ Right?” Harris remarked while gesturing in front of a “No Justice, No Peace” banner. “When he talks about America first, it’s to withdraw from these relationships and these connections. And then he kind of revs up.”

Harris has been known to adopt various accents during her campaign trail speeches in 2024.

At a rally in Detroit, she seemed to channel a soulful preacher while discussing labor rights. “You betta thank a union member for sick leave. You betta thank a union member for paid leave. You betta thank a union member for vacation time,” stated the vice president, who comes from a well-off background and grew up in Canada.

In another instance, while addressing supporters in Georgia in August 2024, she switched to a southern twang, saying, “And you all helped us win in 2020, and we gon’ do it again in 2024.”

Aside from the impression, Harris also faced inquiries about a potential presidential run in 2028. She has enjoyed favorable polling in key states over the past year and a half.

Answering directly, she said, “Well, that’s as subtle as Reverend Al Sharpton could ever be… I might. I might. I’m thinking about it,” and continued, “But let me say this… I served for four years being a heartbeat away from the presidency… I know what the job is… The status quo is not working… The American people have a right to expect… it can’t be about themselves… I’ll keep you posted.”
