Ivanka Trump Shares Heartfelt Struggles After Family Tragedies

Ivanka Trump has recently opened up about the personal challenges she’s faced in the wake of her mother Ivana’s untimely passing. This difficult period, filled with grief and family health crises, led her to seek professional guidance.

During a touching interview on the Diary of a CEO podcast, the 44-year-old discussed how her husband, Jared Kushner, had to undergo a second surgery for cancer just weeks after Ivana’s death. This dual blow prompted her to take care of her mental well-being.

Expressing her desire to be resilient, Ivanka shared, “I wanted to make sure I’m really good at being tough.” The impact of loss was magnified for her because her children had limited time with their grandmother.

She admitted to avoiding conversations about Ivana, as they often led to tears, saying, “I would talk about her and start to cry, just like I’m still doing – but in a different way.”

Ivanka also spoke fondly of her grandmother, Babi, who at 99 lives with the family in Miami. “It’s a blessing to have her in our home,” she noted, emphasizing how Babi keeps Ivana’s memory alive through shared stories.

Reflections on Unexpected Loss

Grief can transform significantly when a parent unexpectedly passes away, especially in the post-pandemic landscape. Ivanka stated, “Losing a parent – it hits different,” referring to the unique challenges of navigating such a loss in today’s world.

Ivana Trump, 73, was found unconscious at her Manhattan residence in July 2022 and sadly passed away that day while Ivanka was in Washington.

Jared Kushner’s cancer journey began with a diagnosis in 2019 during his time in the White House, followed by another surgery in August 2022.

Emotional Turmoil Beyond Family

Ivanka also reflected on the July 2024 assassination attempt against her father, Donald Trump, recounting how she witnessed the event unfold live. Her immediate reaction was one of horror and fear for her children.

She expressed gratitude that her father survived, mentioning that Secret Service agents quickly acted to protect him after a bullet grazed his ear. “I didn’t believe that the worst possible outcome had transpired thank God,” she remarked.

After the incident, she reunited with him at his Bedminster estate. “You can’t take things for granted in this life,” she reflected, a lesson learned through many experiences.

Choosing a Positive Path

When asked about feelings of anger towards the assailants, Ivanka opted for a different approach. “What does that accomplish being negative towards the world?” she questioned, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness despite its challenges.

“His living was a blessing,” she added, resonating with the sentiment that focusing on the positive aspects of life is vital.

Ivanka, who stepped back from the political arena in 2022, has since prioritized her family and raising her three children, while Jared continues to play a crucial role in international relations as Trump’s peace envoy in the Middle East.
