Trump Issues Stark Warning to Iran as Deadline Looms

President Donald Trump shared a sharp warning targeting the Iranian regime in a post on Truth Social, just over a day before a significant deadline for potential escalation.

In his message, Trump threatened to strike essential Iranian infrastructure unless a deal is finalized.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!” he proclaimed. “Open the Fu**in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell — JUST WATCH!” he concluded with, “Praise be to Allah.”

This statement is part of a series of alerts issued by Trump regarding Iranian facilities. He emphasized that the U.S. might target Iranian power plants and bridges if negotiations to reopen the Strait of Hormuz don’t succeed.

Trump characterized these strikes as a direct result of the ongoing blockade, making clear that failure to comply by the deadline could lead to severe consequences for Iran’s power infrastructure.

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital waterway that connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, crucial for oil and liquefied natural gas exports from the region, including major producers like Iraq and Iran. At peak capacity, approximately 20 million barrels of oil daily transit through this route, representing a significant share of global oil exports.

Trump set a definitive deadline of 8 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, for Iran to finalize an agreement to allow shipping through the strait. Initial reports suggested an earlier deadline, but later updates extended it to Tuesday evening.

If the deadline is ignored, U.S. military action on the targeted infrastructure is anticipated. In an interview with ABC News’ Rachel Scott, Trump reiterated the stakes, stating, “If it happens, it happens. And if it doesn’t, we’re blowing up the whole country,” referencing the potential for widespread destruction.

When questioned about limits on potential strikes, Trump indicated there would be “very little.”

This looming deadline follows Iran’s dismissal of an opportunity to engage in negotiations with a U.S. delegation in Pakistan. Nonetheless, Trump informed Israeli outlet Channel 12 that discussions remain “deep” and expressed optimism about reaching an agreement by the forthcoming deadline.
