On Sunday, the White House responded to unsubstantiated claims circulating among left-leaning social media influencers that President Donald Trump was hospitalized due to a medical emergency at Walter Reed Medical Center.
These rumors sparked after a routine press “lid” was announced at 11:08 a.m., which simply indicated that no further public engagements for the president were scheduled for the day.
Such notifications are standard and do not imply an emergency or any significant change to the president’s activities.
Notably, this announcement coincided with the Easter weekend, during which President Trump stayed at the White House instead of traveling to his usual residence at Mar-a-Lago. Prominent figures on social media, including @JoJoFromJerz and Brian Krassenstein, unjustly claimed that the lid hinted at a medical crisis.
These hospitalization claims quickly gained traction, despite the absence of verified details, such as motorcade sightings or official updates from the White House press corps.

In response to these rumors, journalists and White House observers documented the presence of a U.S. Marine sentinel stationed outside the West Wing, a clear indication that the president was present and working in the Oval Office.
CBS News producer Emma Nicholson and other reporters reported seeing the sentinel around 1:50 p.m., further confirming Trump’s whereabouts at the White House that day.
Despite a lack of supporting evidence, rumors persisted about a potential hospitalization at Walter Reed. Additional reports from CBS and others illustrated that normal activity continued outside the hospital, with no signs of a presidential motorcade or roadblock, typical during medical visits.
Some commentators even shared outdated video clips of Trump arriving at a hospital in Pennsylvania after a 2024 incident.

The White House later issued a firm denial of these unfounded rumors. They highlighted Trump’s continued work at the White House over the Easter weekend. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung stated, “There has never been a President who has worked harder for the American people than President Trump. On this Easter weekend, he has been working nonstop in the White House and Oval Office. God Bless him.”
These baseless speculations unfold amidst increasing tensions regarding Iran, where ongoing search and rescue efforts are targeting a downed airman who was forced to eject from an F-15 over Southwestern Iran.
Earlier, Trump restated a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran to restore access to the critical Strait of Hormuz or risk further escalation. He also reported the deaths of multiple Iranian leaders due to recent military strikes in Tehran, with Fox News estimating that around 50 officials may have been killed.
