Rams Star Enters Rehab Amid Controversy

Puka Nacua has recently committed to a rehabilitation program following allegations of biting a woman while under the influence on New Year’s Eve, his attorney has reported.

Levi McCathern, the Los Angeles Rams receiver’s lawyer, confirmed that Nacua is currently at a luxury facility in Malibu. While the attorney stated that this treatment isn’t directly linked to the lawsuit from Madison Atiabi, he acknowledged that media coverage likely played a role in influencing Nacua’s decision.

“He had already been there for quite some time before these latest claims emerged,” McCathern added, indicating that Nacua aims to stay in treatment for an extended period.

McCathern expressed pride in Nacua’s commitment to improving himself during the offseason. He articulated that the goal of the rehabilitation is to enhance Nacua’s behavior in all life aspects.

Images circulated show Nacua visiting and leaving the Malibu facility, dressed casually and appearing in good spirits, even smiling while meeting a visitor.

The treatment center offers specialized programs for individuals facing challenges such as substance abuse, chronic pain, and mental wellness issues.

According to McCathern, Nacua remains in high spirits and is optimistic about his future performance. “I’m excited to see his progress next season; I believe he’ll excel even more,” he remarked.

Earlier this offseason, Nacua has been in the spotlight for incidents involving alcohol. A video surfaced from Super Bowl week, showing him stumbling and enjoying himself on the streets of San Francisco post-party.

The serious allegations stem from a petition for a restraining order submitted by Atiabi on March 24, claiming Nacua bit her during a night out after excessive drinking.

Atiabi, 24, contended that Nacua made her feel uneasy and allegedly made offensive remarks during dinner. She claimed that the bite left visible marks and caused her physical pain.

After filing a lawsuit on March 25, Atiabi’s legal representation announced they would retract the restraining order in order to concentrate on the lawsuit.

McCathern denied that Nacua made any antisemitic comments but admitted the biting incident occurred, which he labeled as mutual “horseplay.”

“They keep fabricating stories to turn a minor incident into major financial gains,” McCathern stated. “Ultimately, they will end up compensating Puka instead.”

Officials from the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office are currently reviewing Atiabi’s allegations.
