On Tuesday, President Donald Trump unveiled striking footage of U.S. forces unleashing 2,000-pound bunker-buster bombs on an Iranian ammunition depot, resulting in a massive explosion.
The clip, shared on Truth Social, shows precision strikes on a target in Isfahan, where one of Iran’s significant nuclear facilities is located. According to a U.S. official, these specialized munitions are crafted to penetrate hardened, underground structures.
In the aftermath, thick black smoke rose over Isfahan.
The same official noted a considerable use of bunker-buster bombs in ongoing attacks on Isfahan, which previously faced assaults during last summer’s 12-day conflict.
Satellite imagery from NASA indicates that the explosions occurred near Mount Soffeh, an area thought to contain military sites.

This series of strikes intensifies pressure on the Trump administration to de-escalate tensions and stabilize global energy markets. Trump warned Iran on Monday that its energy facilities could face destruction if a deal isn’t reached âshortly.â

âSignificant progress has been made but if a deal isnât concluded promptlyâand if the Hormuz Strait isn’t immediately âOpen for Businessââwe will end our âstayâ in Iran by taking out all their electric generating plants, oil wells, and possibly all desalinization plants,â Trump stated on Truth Social.
Iran has reportedly accused the U.S. and Israel of assaulting the Bushehr nuclear power facility. Trump has confirmed strikes on Kharg Island, a vital oil hub in the Strait of Hormuz, made earlier this month.
Despite ongoing tensions, Trump remarked that negotiations are underway with Iranâs parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, while Tehran refutes claims of any discussions, accusing Washington of using diplomacy to obscure military maneuvers.
U.S. officials indicate that thousands of extra troops have been deployed to the Middle East, part of a strategy that could enable Trump to consider a ground invasion, even as he suggests a resolution may be close.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed his desire not to impose a timeline on concluding the conflict.
Reportedly, Trump has communicated to his team that he might be inclined to scale back military operations even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely shut.
Domestically, the president confronts escalating political pressure to resolve the situation before the November midterms. The ongoing war has pushed oil prices to a four-year peak, resulting in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members and 303 injuries within just over a month.
