Senator Graham Faces Criticism for Disney Getaway During DC Crisis

Senator Lindsey Graham transitioned swiftly from enjoying bubble wands to taking aim with a shotgun.

On Monday, the South Carolina Republican shared a photo of himself engaging in clay shooting back home, shortly after TMZ released images of his solo trip to Walt Disney World, where he was seen with an expensive bubble wand.

“Spent some time breaking clays in Edgefield County today. Doesn’t get much better than that,” Graham remarked.

The photos from Disney ignited intense discussion online during a politically charged moment. The government remains in a partial shutdown, ongoing for 44 days, causing financial strain for numerous federal employees as lawmakers debate funding for the Department of Homeland Security. Meanwhile, tensions surrounding Iran are escalating.

Graham defended his trip while speaking to Newsweek, explaining it followed official engagements.

“I was invited to a lunch in South Florida on Friday with Trump official Steve Witkoff and many others to discuss potential normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel. I traveled to Orlando to meet friends afterward. I returned to South Carolina on Sunday,” he stated.

He further reminded critics, “I voted seven times to fully fund the government. Call a Democrat.”

The backlash was swift.

Republican rival Mark Lynch criticized, stating, “Lindsey is at Disney World while the world burns.”

However, some defended Graham, claiming the criticism was excessive given the ongoing stalemate in Washington.

One user on X remarked, “I don’t understand why he should forfeit family time when he is willing to help resolve this situation if the Democrats would cease their stubbornness. I think it’s unnecessary and unfair.”

This incident coincides with Graham’s firm stance regarding the Iran situation. During a Fox News Sunday segment, he expressed support for the U.S. seizing Iran’s Kharg Island, a crucial component of the nation’s oil infrastructure.
