Hillary Clinton’s Upcoming Visit Sparks New Political Speculation in New Hampshire

Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State, is set to make a significant appearance in New Hampshire next month. She will be the keynote speaker at the New Hampshire Democratic Party’s Shaheen McIntyre Dinner in Nashua, a major annual fundraising event.

This marks Clinton’s first participation in a state party gathering in several years, described by New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley as a moment to honor her extensive public service. The dinner will also celebrate retiring U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen, who announced her departure from the political scene last year.

Clinton’s last public visit to New Hampshire occurred in 2019 at Dartmouth College. Prior to that, she stopped in Concord during a book tour in 2017. Notably, she has a history in the state’s presidential primaries, including a significant win in 2008.

Although Clinton faced challenges in 2016 against Senator Bernie Sanders, she did secure the party’s nomination. Her upcoming speech is timely, coinciding with the preparations for New Hampshire’s 2026 midterm elections.

With an open U.S. Senate seat emerging due to Shaheen’s retirement, along with two congressional races and a gubernatorial battle, Clinton’s presence is poised to boost party fundraising efforts. New Hampshire has maintained an all-Democratic congressional delegation since 2017, even while Republicans control the governorship and state legislature.

The impending U.S. Senate race is drawing particular attention, given the competitive nature of the open seat. U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas leads the Democratic hopefuls, while the Republican primary includes former Senators John E. Sununu and Scott Brown, both of whom have had past electoral battles against Shaheen.

Polls indicate that Pappas currently enjoys a lead over his opponents, although the margin narrows in a potential matchup against Sununu, who has already garnered the endorsement of President Donald Trump.
