Actor Robert De Niro has expressed his concern over the potential consequences if former President Donald Trump were to secure victory in the 2024 presidential election.
De Niro suggested that such an outcome could lead to the downfall of the United States government and speculated that Trump may refuse to relinquish his position.
“Under Trump, this kind of government will perish from the earth,” De Niro said from a press conference held by the Biden campaign outside of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse as closing arguments were happening in Trump’s business records trial, before jury deliberations.
“I don’t mean to scare you.
“No, no, wait, maybe I do mean to scare you.”
President Joe Biden has largely refrained from commenting on the ongoing trial where Donald Trump is confronted with 34 charges of falsifying business records in the first degree.
In a recent development, the Biden-Harris campaign has announced their intention to hold a press conference outside the courthouse.
