Guthrie Family Addresses Suspected Kidnappers, Agrees To Pay Ransom

Longtime NBC News anchor Savannah Guthrie and her siblings released a second video statement in which they agreed to pay a requested ransom to the suspected kidnappers who are believed to have abducted their mother, Nancy.

The latest video features Savannah Guthrie, co-anchor of NBC’s “Today” show, alongside her siblings Camron Guthrie and Annie Guthrie. The siblings had previously released a video earlier this week in which they pleaded for their mother’s safe return after she vanished from her Tuscon, Arizona home seven days ago.

In the previous video, the family addressed the existence of a purported ransom note that was sent to a number of media outlets, including TMZ. In that video, the Guthries requested proof of life, which has not been provided as of this report. One earlier note included a 5 p.m. deadline on February 5, 2026, which passed without confirmed contact from the abductors.

All three siblings seemed to directly address the existence of a ransom note and pleaded directly with the suspected captors in Saturday’s statement. The short, roughly 30-second clip was uploaded to Savannah’s Instagram page on Saturday evening with the caption “Bring her home.”

“We received your message and we understand. We beg you now to return our mother to us so that we can celebrate with her. This is the only way we will have peace,” Savannah said in the latest video. “This is very valuable to us and we will pay.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI, the two primary law enforcement organizations who have been leading the investigation, have not yet commented on the new video as of 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

Additional details on the cryptic video post have not been released as of this report. TMZ founder Harvey Levin previously reported that the original ransom letter threatened harm if cryptocurrency payments were not made, adding that the demand “would change” if the Thursday deadline was not met.

Authorities have been largely hush about the ransom note and have not provided details on the exact demands, only that it is being investigated seriously.

In a previous video statement released on February 5, the Guthries once again appeared to address the suspected kidnappers directly. “We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you,” Savannah said in the previous statement.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, 2026, after being dropped off at her home in the Catalina Foothills area north of Tucson, Arizona, around 9:48 p.m. following dinner with family. She was reported missing the next morning when she did not attend church.

Investigators believe she was abducted from her home. Evidence includes blood found on her porch, confirmed as hers, a disconnected doorbell camera at about 1:45 a.m. on February 1, and her pacemaker app disconnecting from her phone shortly before 2:30 a.m.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos indicated as recently as Friday night that he believes the 84-year-old is alive, but cautioned that she requires medication for a heart condition and has limited mobility.

The case took several significant turns on Friday, though authorities have not yet indicated that they have any information on a suspect or persons of interest. Upon a third search of the home, FBI investigators recovered a camera from the roof that had been missed in previous searches conducted by local law enforcement.

Investigators were also seen towing a vehicle from Nancy Guthrie’s home late Friday night. Police also confirmed that video of a “vehicle of interest” had been shared with investigators, though additional details have not been disclosed as of this report.
