During a recent campaign visit to Florida, President Joe Biden reiterated a claim that had been debunked before, stating that he had experience driving an 18-wheeler.
While addressing the audience in Tampa, Biden casually mentioned his past involvement with operating large trucks.
However, it is worth noting that this claim has been fact-checked by both Politifact and Snopes, who found no substantiating evidence to support the president’s assertion.
Interestingly, a member of the crowd, acknowledging the presence of Teamsters, praised Biden for the pension he received from his previous employment.
“We did get that done. Anyways. Besides, I used to drive an 18-wheeler,” Biden responded.
Biden mentioned the assertion in November 2021 when highlighting his administration’s infrastructure efforts at Dakota County Technical College in Minnesota, as confirmed by Politifact’s fact-check.
“I used to drive a tractor-trailer, so I know a little bit about driving big trucks,” the president previously said. “I only did it for part of a summer, but I got my license anyway.”
Politifact reports that “there’s no record that he drove an 18-wheeler, the typical meaning of a tractor trailer.”
“The closest experience he had was in 1973, when, as a senator, he rode along on a 536-mile tractor-trailer trip from Delaware to Ohio,” Politifact wrote.
Watch:
Bull crap. Biden never worked an honest job in his life. He’s been a political parasite and grifter his entire life.
