Two active-duty U.S. Space Force officers returned home to a nightmare after their Washington, D.C., residence was broken into, vandalized, and deliberately set on fire while they were out of town, according to a GoFundMe page created for the family.
Jason Taylor and Kaylee Taylor came back to find their home heavily damaged by fire, with most of their belongings destroyed. Their vehicle was also vandalized, with spray-painted messages reading “Fck Trump” and “Fck the Space Force,” the fundraiser says.
The apparent targeted attack happened Sunday, Dec. 28, while the couple was traveling with their infant daughter, Rae. Both Jason and Kaylee Taylor are active-duty members of the United States Space Force.
“While they were out of town, their home was broken into, robbed, vandalized, and intentionally set on fire,” the GoFundMe page states. “Kaylee and Jason… and their beautiful baby girl, Rae, lost pretty much everything they owned.”

According to the fundraiser, the fire wiped out clothing, furniture, baby items, keepsakes, and other essentials accumulated by the young family. A family cat, Marlee, also died in the blaze.
“Tragically, in the fire they also lost their beloved cat, Marlee, who was a cherished part of their family,” the page reads.
The Taylors were not injured in the attack.
“We are incredibly grateful that Kaylee, Jason, and Rae were not home at the time and are physically safe,” the page says. “However, they are now faced with the daunting task of starting over completely from nothing.”
The fundraiser is seeking donations to help the family cover immediate needs and recovery costs. According to the campaign, the money will go toward “replacing basic necessities,” “temporary housing and living expenses,” and “rebuilding their lives after this devastating loss.”
As of this week, the GoFundMe campaign had raised roughly $70,000.
The incident remains under investigation.
