U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) had a conniption when confronted with scenes from an Islamist protest in the Muslim-majority community of Dearborn, during which participants chanted “Death To America.”
The protests in question occurred on April 5, 2024, during an annual International Al-Quds Day rally in Dearborn, Michigan — a city with one of the largest Arab-American populations in the United States. This event was part of a global series of terrorist-linked demonstrations marking Al-Quds Day, which was established in 1979 by Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini.
A video captured a large crowd of attendees, primarily Muslim protesters, repeatedly chanting “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”
The chants were led by an unidentified man in the crowd holding a microphone, with a large group echoing in unison for several minutes amid green flags and a festive atmosphere. Organizers later claimed in a Facebook statement that the individual initiating the “Death to America” chant was “not affiliated” with the event and described it as “wrongful.”
The protest is back under the microscope following Wednesday’s terrorist attack in downtown Washington D.C., as well as a recent incident in the city where mobs of residents attacked a right-wing activist who attempted to burn a Quran in a freedom of expression protest.
Statements from Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) are also under the microscope, particularly one in which she accused a Fox News reporter of “racism” for asking about the chants. “I don’t talk to Fox News,” Tlaib snapped, accusing the report of advancing “racist tropes” about Dearborn for asking about the interview.

Following Wednesday’s attack, President Donald Trump vowed to end immigration from destabilized and third-world countries, in addition to launching a formal review of all special immigration visas issued to foreign nationals from at-risk nations. He particularly referenced the threats posed by Afghan migrants and multi-million-dollar welfare scams in Minneapolis, where Somali immigrants have looted more hundreds of millions of dollars worth of taxpayer funds.
Some of the stolen funds have been routed to foreign terrorist groups like the Al Qaeda-affiliated al-Shabaab.
“A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being ‘Politically Correct,’ and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration,” Trump wrote in a scathing Thanksgiving X post.
He went on to quote census figures pinning the current U.S. foreign-born population at 53 million, noting that millions receive public assistance, are from “failed nations”, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.
