Top Democrat lawmakers and pundits rage over the Shutdown deal

On Sunday, several prominent politicians on the left — and even some presidential candidates — broke down after Senate Democrats said they reached an agreement to reopen the federal government in the coming week. This ended the longest U.S. shutdown history while not achieving their main demands.

Axios reported that at least 10 Senate Democrats will support a motion for a procedure to move forward a set of bills to fund the government and short-term funding measures through January. Multiple sources in both parties confirmed this. According to the agreement, Republicans have agreed to vote in December on extending Affordable Care Act credits. This will need 60 votes.

The Democrats own reconciliation package stipulates that the credit cards will expire in 2022. This was a major sticking point and Senator Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY described it as their main leverage.

Due to the fact that the credit terms were not guaranteed, several Democrats took to the social media sites to blast Schumer. They accused him of “caving in” to Republicans.

JB Pritzker, Governor of Illinois posted on X: “This isn’t a deal – it’s a hollow promise.” Trump and the Republican Congress make healthcare expensive for middle-class families and end it for those who are working. “It’s time for Democrats to take a stand for affordable healthcare.”

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, another prominent Democrat who has been linked with a possible 2028 presidential campaign also expressed her dissatisfaction over the deal. People want us to maintain the status quo for good reason. It’s not about appealing to the base. She wrote. Working people are looking for leaders who will stand by their words.

A number of left-wing commentators were equally incensed by the agreement. Kyle Kulinski, a political commentator from the far left, said that Democrats had “leverage”, before falsely asserting President Trump’s rating was only 37 percent. The shutdown is being blamed on republicans, but the elections were a huge success. They need your votes. You’re a s**t if you don’t get healthcare subsidies now. screamed, “Unfit for Leadership”.

Hasan Piker is a known far-left streamer who has also been accused of dog abuse. He also complained about Democrats’ failure to prevent “secret police” forces from “kidnapping illegal aliens”. You are the leader of your party, everyone knows that you let Rotating Villians concede with little or nothing because they’re old and feeble. They don’t care about anything. REIGN NOW !!!! “He wrote to Schumer in a post.

During Sunday’s “The Weekend Primetime” on MSNBC, several panelists were enraged by the situation.

I have more questions than solutions. It’s hard to understand why Senate Democrats will go along with a future date. One panelist said, “I don’t understand why they are so insistent on a date that’s six weeks away.”

I would say that it does not feel like gentleman’s agreements. Lucy is in the ball. It’s almost like saying, “Oh, yes, we did promise this vote.” “Alright… Whoops,” said another.

Some Democrats have even gone so far to demand that Minority Leader Schumer be immediately replaced.

Senator Schumer should be replaced. What will you fight for if you don’t take the lead in stopping healthcare costs from skyrocketing? U.S. Rep. Ro. Khanna, D-CA posted on X.

Hakeem Jeffries, House Minority leader (D-NY), also criticised the agreement. He said, “I do not think the House Democratic Caucus will support this promise or a wishful thinking from people who have destroyed the health of Americans for years.”
