WATCH: Erika Kirk Shares Heartbreaking Account Of Moments After Charlie Was Shot

Turning Point USA’s CEO Erika K. Kirk, in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday, September 10, shared her heartbreaking story of arriving at the hospital to find that Charlie, the founder and husband of Turning Point USA, had been shot dead while he was speaking at Utah Valley University with students.

Kirk was asked by Jesse Watters, the host of the show, about her reaction when she learned that Charlie had died on September 10th. Kirk recalled being at her mother’s doctor’s appointment when she saw the video showing Charlie throwing hats into the crowd before the event began.

It started. “I said to Mom. We saw the hats flying. My phone was set to silent when I placed it down. “I had no need to go back and look at it”, she explained. Mikey McCoy, TPUSA’s Mikey began to call her about the events that had occurred.

Mikey called and said, “Charlie has been shot. I will never forget that.” Get the children, he’s shot. He’s shot, call security. Get the children. Kirk remembered the unimaginable nightmare.

When she arrived at the hospital it was told that Charlie had died from his wounds.

She revealed to Fox News that she had never seen the video and would never see it. I never wanted to watch it. There are some things in life you cannot unsee. Certain things that you witness in life will forever mark your soul. I never want to see my husband’s assassination in public. “I don’t ever want my children to see that.”

A policeman told her not to see the body of her husband for now when she arrived at the hospital. We enter the room. A law enforcement officer enters. What do you tell someone who just had their husband assassinated in public? You know, I have been doing it for thirty-some years. I’ll never say that you can’t see your husband. Kirk replied, “He said that I think, from my professional perspective, you should not see your husband until he is at the morgue. I do not think you would want to look him in this state.”

Krik recalled that the room became noticeably quieter at this point as the majority of people were likely in agreement with the police officer. “I replied back and said, with all due respect to you, sir. I told him, I want to know what my husband was treated like. “I want to kiss him, as I did not get to kiss him this morning.” I also said that to the doctor. “I’m here to see my husband,” I told the doctor when he came into the room.

Kirk was then asked about her feelings regarding cameras being present in court during the trial for the suspected murderer of her husband. Tyler Robinson is about to be charged with capital murder for allegedly confessing to killing Kirk because of his “hatred” towards transgenderism.

Robinson, who was gay, was living with a male transgender-identifying romantic partner at the time of the killing.

Kirk replied, “We should have cameras there.” Kirk asked, “Why not transparency?”

There’s no need to be secretive. “I know that there is nothing to hide because I have seen the evidence.” Everyone should see the true evil. “This is something which could have a lasting impact on future generations.”
