President Donald Trump told mourners that one of Charlie Kirk’s final requests was to “save Chicago.”
Trump said Kirk, an Illinois native, asked him personally to focus on the city’s crime crisis.
“Save Chicago”
“Please sir, save Chicago,” Trump quoted Kirk as saying in their last conversation.

Trump vowed his administration would “do that” and “save Chicago.”
He reiterated recent pledges to deploy National Guard units if necessary.
Trump framed the promise as part of honoring Kirk’s legacy.
He said the appeal reflected Kirk’s love for his home state.
Praise and Legacy
“We owe Charlie a profound and eternal debt of gratitude,” Trump said.
He called Kirk a champion of “freedom and justice” who spoke truth boldly.
Trump said Kirk “lived bravely,” “argued brilliantly,” and “did what was right.”

He told the family that “no words can fill the void” left behind.
Trump said “America loved Charlie Kirk” as much as Kirk loved America.
He credited Kirk with uniting MAGA and “Make America Healthy Again.”
Personal Reflections
Trump said he learned of Kirk’s death in a “surreal” moment in the Oval Office.
“The gun was pointed at him, but the bullet was aimed at every one of us,” he said.
He told the crowd Kirk is now “eternal” and “bigger than two weeks ago.”

Trump said Kirk would be “looking down today” at the “great crowd.”
He praised the stadium full of mourners and those in overflow.
Trump thanked Christian artists and attendees for a reverent service.
Movement Builder
Trump said Kirk introduced him to Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and JD Vance.
He credited Kirk with turbocharging youth support in the 2024 election.
Kirk “built a movement,” Trump said, from a card table to a juggernaut.

He described Kirk’s campus debates and his refusal to silence critics.
Trump said Kirk met hatred with persuasion, courage, and prayer.
He pledged to award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Call to Action
Trump urged Americans to defend free speech and reject political violence.
He said DOJ is probing networks that “fund and perpetrate” unrest.
He called for a spiritual reawakening and bringing “God back” to America.
He promised law and order interventions in cities like Chicago.
He closed by inviting Erika Kirk on stage and saluting TPUSA’s future.

“God bless you, Charlie,” Trump said, vowing to carry the mission forward.
