A Sacramento man has been arrested after bullets struck the ABC10 news station on Friday.
The shooting came one day after protesters gathered outside over Jimmy Kimmel’s suspension.
The Arrest
Police identified the suspect as 64-year-old Anibal Hernandezsantana.
He was taken into custody after officers tracked his vehicle from the scene.

Hernandezsantana faces three felony charges in Sacramento County Jail.
He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent discharge of a firearm.
He is being held on $200,000 bail while awaiting his court appearance.
The FBI assisted Sacramento police in the investigation.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
The Shooting
Gunfire was reported at 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Employees were inside the ABC10 building at the time.

No one was injured, though three bullets struck a window.
Video shared online showed holes in the station’s front-facing glass.
Police said the shots were fired from a vehicle that sped away.
Responding officers quickly identified the suspect’s car and made the arrest.
The building was secured as detectives began processing the scene.
Station Response
ABC10, an affiliate station, is owned by Tegna.
Disney owns the ABC network but not the Sacramento station.

Nexstar Media Group is in the process of acquiring Tegna for $6.2 billion.
The company said employees were unharmed and operations continued.
Local reporters said staff members were shaken by the incident.
Authorities confirmed extra police patrols will secure the area.
Other Bay Area ABC stations will receive added protection as well.
Political Context
The shooting followed protests outside the building Thursday.
About 15 people gathered to protest Kimmel’s suspension.

Demonstrators accused Disney of bowing to political pressure.
Kimmel’s show was suspended after remarks about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
His comments sparked backlash from Republicans and FCC Chairman Brendan Carr.
Trump praised Disney’s decision to pull Kimmel off the air.
Next Steps
Hernandezsantana is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
Prosecutors will decide whether to pursue additional charges.
Sacramento police said patrols will continue near local media outlets.
Authorities warned attacks on press institutions will not be tolerated.
No mugshot of the suspect has been released as of Saturday.
The case highlights ongoing tensions between media, politics, and public anger.
