5 Christians Killed in Attack During Church Bible Study in Nigeria

Five Christians were murdered last Friday during a Bible study in northern Nigeria after armed Islamic militants stormed a church in Kajuru County, Kaduna State.

The victims were gathered at the Evangelical Church Winning All in Kampani village when the attack occurred around 3:30 p.m., according to Morning Star News.

Christians Targeted Again

The dead were identified as:

  • Victor Haruna

  • Dogara Jatau

  • Luka Yari

  • Jesse Dalami

  • Bawu John

Three others were seriously wounded: Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini.

A local resident, Happiness Daniel, described the horror: “We constantly live in fear every day. We can’t sleep in our homes and we can’t go to farms.”

The region has become a war zone for Christians, with attacks, killings, and kidnappings carried out by Muslim Fulani militants becoming routine.

Abductions and Executions

So far in 2025, Fulani terrorists have kidnapped at least 110 Christians in Kajuru County alone.

On June 28, Fulani gunmen abducted a village head from his home in Bauda. In March, they kidnapped 10 Christians from three villages in a single raid and murdered a local pastor while taking 30 more believers hostage.

“This senseless violence has devastated our communities,” said Stephen Maikori, a community leader.

Global Christian Persecution Surging

According to the 2025 World Watch List by Open Doors, nearly 70% of all Christians killed for their faith globally were in Nigeria—3,100 out of 4,476.

Nigeria continues to rank among the worst places in the world for Christians.

Other dangerous hotspots include:

Believers in places like Eritrea, Bangladesh, and Iran also face brutal imprisonment simply for following Christ.
