2 White People Beaten Unconscious in Wild Cincinnati Street Brawl

Cincinnati police have launched a criminal investigation after a brutal mob-style beating in downtown Cincinnati left two white victims — a man and a woman — seriously injured early Saturday morning.

The assault took place at the intersection of West Fourth Street and Elm Street, near the Cincinnati Music Festival, and was caught on video by bystanders who chose to record the violence rather than intervene.

Attack Captured on Video

Citizen video shows a group of young black males and females surrounding an older bald white man, who is sucker-punched from behind and then repeatedly punched, kicked, and stomped while on the ground. Laughing and shouting can be heard as the man tries to get up — only to collapse in the middle of the street.

A white woman who appears to check on the victim is then attacked from behind, and knocked unconscious after being punched in the face by another male. Blood can be seen coming from her mouth as her head hits the pavement.

No One Helps — Crowd Records Instead

No one in the crowd steps in to stop the assault or render aid. Instead, many simply recorded the beating on their phones.

The incident is believed to have stemmed from a verbal altercation, but authorities have not confirmed what led to the violence. It’s also unknown if the two victims were related.

Police Chief: ‘Absolutely Unacceptable’

Cincinnati Police Chief Terri Theetge condemned the attack:

“The behavior displayed is nothing short of cruel and absolutely unacceptable,” Theetge said. “Our team is working diligently to identify every individual involved.”

She added that the assault was not officially tied to the Cincinnati Music Festival.

FOP President: ‘Disgusting’

Fraternal Order of Police President Ken Kober also spoke out:

“The violence this video shows downtown is disgusting,” he said. “Equally disgusting are those who chose to watch and record instead of calling 911 or rendering aid.”
