NYC Mayor Eric Adams corruption charges revealed

New York City’s mayor was indicted by a grand jury over corruption charges by the DOJ. Those charges have now been revealed by the Associated Press.

“NYC Mayor Eric Adams indicted on charges that he accepted bribes and illegal campaign contributions from foreign sources.”

There’s no other information given about the charges.

Earlier today, the FBI seized the phone of Adams before the indictment was made public. Adams also released a video claiming he was innocent and that he’d request an immediate trial to prove that to New Yorkers.

: Here’s more from the AP:

The indictment alleges Adams “compounded his gains” from the illegal contributions by gaming the city’s matching funds program, which provides a generous match for small dollar donations. His campaign received more than $10,000 in matching funds as a result of the false certifications, according to the indictment.

Adams allegedly “solicited and demanded” bribes, including free and heavily discounted luxury travel benefits from a Turkish official, the indictment alleges, noting that the official was seeking Adams’ help pertaining to regulations of the Turkish consulate in Manhattan.

Fox News is reporting that there are 5 counts in the indictment.

COUNT 1: Conspriacy to commit wire fraud, federal program bribery, and to receive campaign contributions by foreign nationals.
COUNT 2: Wire fraud.
COUNT 3: Solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national.
COUNT 4: Solicitation of a contribution by a foreign national.
COUNT 5: Bribery.

I’ll update with more information when I get it…
