President Donald Trump kicked off the year-long celebration of America’s 250th birthday on Thursday night with a powerful, patriotic rally at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
The event doubled as a victory rally, coming just hours after Congress passed Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill,” the largest tax and spending overhaul in U.S. history — and the cornerstone of the MAGA agenda.
“There could be no better birthday present for America,” Trump told the roaring crowd.
MAGA momentum rolling into Independence Day
Before departing for Iowa, Trump teased a massive July 4th celebration at the White House, complete with elite military flyovers, including B-2 bombers recently deployed to Iran.
The president had set a July 4 deadline for lawmakers to deliver the bill. They did — and now it’s time to celebrate.
“With this bill, every major promise I made to the people of Iowa in 2024 became a promise kept,” Trump said.

As Lee Greenwood performed “God Bless the USA”, the crowd erupted in chants of “USA!”, waving signs celebrating the Fourth of July, the bill’s passage, and America’s 250th.
Enlistments surge under real leadership
Trump proudly announced that military and police enlistment numbers are surging after hitting rock bottom under the Biden administration.
“They couldn’t get anybody to go into the military. They couldn’t get anybody to go into the police or fire departments,” Trump said.
“And now we just set a record — a new record of enlistments in every single branch of the military and all police forces.”
America First even in the parks
The president also unveiled a new executive order focused on protecting and improving U.S. national parks.
“I’ve just signed an executive order to raise entrance fees for foreign tourists while keeping prices low for Americans,” Trump said.
“The national parks will be about America First.”

Taking on the left — and NYC’s radical mayoral race
While focused on celebration, Trump didn’t ignore the threat posed by the far-left.
He specifically called out Zohran Mamdani, the openly pro-communist candidate leading the race for New York City mayor.
“We’ve seen some of our political system attempting to overthrow the timeless American principles… and replace them with socialism, Marxism, and straight-up communism,” Trump said.
“As President of the United States, I’m proclaiming here and now: America is never going to be communist in any way, shape, or form. And that includes New York City.”
