President Donald J. Trump has announced plans to host a full-scale UFC championship fight on the White House lawn next year as part of the historic America250 celebration.
The announcement came during Trump’s rousing speech at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on the eve of Independence Day.
“Does anybody watch UFC? The great Dana White?” Trump asked the crowd.
“We’re going to have a UFC fight — on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there.”
Trump emphasized that UFC President Dana White, a close friend and longtime supporter, would lead the effort.
“We’re going to build a little — well, Dana is going to do it,” Trump said. “Dana is great, one of a kind. It’s going to be a UFC fight — championship fight — full fight. Like 20,000 to 25,000 people. And we’re going to do that as part of ‘250’ also.”

No Formal Permit Yet, But Plans Are in Motion
While official permits and logistics have yet to be announced, the National Park Service, which oversees the White House grounds, has not denied the event — and neither has the UFC.
But given Trump’s close ties with Dana White and his leadership style of bold action over bureaucracy, insiders say the event is likely already in the works behind the scenes.
Trump’s UFC Appearances Already Legendary
Trump, who has attended multiple UFC events with massive crowd energy, was most recently seen ringside at UFC 316 in Newark, NJ, where fans greeted him with thunderous cheers and chants of “USA! USA!”
Before that, Trump attended UFC 314 in Miami, flanked by an entourage including:
Each time, Trump was welcomed like a rockstar, with the crowd erupting as he made his signature entrance and greeted fans.
“America250” Will Be a Celebration Like No Other
The UFC fight on the White House lawn is just one part of Trump’s massive vision for the 250th birthday of the United States, which will include:
-
Events at every national park, battlefield, and historical site
-
Patriotic displays and rallies nationwide
-
Military tributes and flyovers
-
And yes — combat sports in the nation’s front yard
