Trump celebrates July 4 with victory for families, workers, and the border

With a smile and a signature, President Donald J. Trump signed his “Big, Beautiful Bill” into law on July 4, delivering a major legislative win that enshrines core America First priorities — from tax cuts and border security to military morale and welfare reform.

“Declaration of Independence From National Decline”

The 900-page bill passed the House on Thursday, giving Trump a reason to celebrate with the American people in Iowa before returning to D.C. for the ceremonial signing.

“The first five months of our second term are a declaration of independence from a, really, national decline,” Trump told the crowd.

Military Honored as B-52 and F-35s Roar Overhead

In a jaw-dropping moment of patriotism, a B-52 bomber that had dropped one of the 30,000-lb bombs on Iran in Operation Midnight Hammer flew over the White House, escorted by F-35s, as Trump stood with First Lady Melania Trump during the national anthem.

“That is some sight,” Trump said. “Our country is more proud than it’s been in many, many years.”

Enlistment Hits Record High

Trump credited his administration’s leadership with reviving military morale, announcing that enlistment is now at an all-time high.

“We’re packed. We’re full,” Trump told the cheering crowd.

GOP Cheers Trump’s Policy Victory

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt called the bill a victory for the people:

“This is an encapsulation of all the policies that the president campaigned on and the American people voted on.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) personally handed Trump the gavel used during the House vote. Trump grinned and pounded the table, reenacting the moment for the crowd.

What’s Inside Trump’s “Big, Beautiful” Bill

Here’s what Americans get:

  • Child tax credit raised from $2,000 to $2,200

  • $25,000 in tip/overtime deductions for service workers (4 years)

  • State and local tax deduction jumps from $10,000 to $40,000 (5 years)

  • $350 billion for ICE, including 10,000 new agents with $10,000 signing bonuses

  • Welfare reform requiring work from able-bodied recipients, even those with kids over 14

  • States must co-fund food stamps starting in 2028

  • Clean energy handouts end, including the $7,500 EV tax credit, cut in September

Fiscal Hawks Fold Under Pressure

Despite loud grumbling from the House Freedom Caucus, every member voted YES — turning the vote into a clear referendum on loyalty to Trump.

“They called their own bluff,” said Rep. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI).

Trump Allies Target RINOs

Only two Republicans — Thomas Massie (KY) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA) — voted NO with the Democrats. Trump’s team is already backing primary challengers to replace them.

In Massie’s district, polling shows him trailing a newcomer badly, a clear sign that defying Trump comes at a cost.

A Glorious Independence Day

With patriotic music, roaring jets, and a crowd of supporters on the White House lawn, Trump signed the bill into law surrounded by Republican lawmakers and military heroes.

“The First Lady worked hard to make this all work,” Trump said, nodding to Melania, who waved to the crowd with a smile.
