As patriotic Americans gather across the nation to celebrate freedom, independence, and the exceptional legacy of the United States, some members of Congress won’t be joining the celebration — not because they’re unwell or out of town, but because they actively despise what the Fourth of July represents.
Here are three Democrat lawmakers who’ve made it crystal clear they’d rather tear America down than lift it up.
3. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) – Rooting for Foreign Countries Over the U.S.
Jasmine Crockett, the far-left firebrand from Texas, has a habit of cheering for America’s adversaries and insulting the red states she claims to represent.
In a February interview on The Breakfast Club, Crockett said she was “rooting for Canada and Mexico” to stand up to what she called the “crazy regime from Mar-a-Lago.” That “regime” being President Trump — the man who delivered energy independence, rebuilt the military, and secured our southern border.
“The fact that I’m rooting for Canada and I’m rooting for Mexico a lot is really wild,” she said proudly.
Crockett has also called conservative states “deplorable”, mocked them as “broke”, and insulted Texans by ridiculing Gov. Greg Abbott’s disability in a disgusting “Hot Wheels” slur — a comment she has refused to apologize for.
Let that sink in: a sitting member of Congress publicly rooting against her own country and mocking disabled Americans. But yes, please lecture us about “democracy.”
2. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) – More Passion for Palestine Than America
Rashida Tlaib, known for shouting “impeach the motherfker!”** within minutes of joining Congress, has spent her time in office undermining America, demonizing Israel, and calling to abolish ICE — the very agency tasked with enforcing our immigration laws.
Instead of celebrating America’s freedoms, Tlaib used Independence Day to bash the nation:
“Broken systems rooted in racism… allow folks to be harmed and killed.”
Her loyalty lies not with the United States, but with foreign causes — especially her relentless advocacy for Palestine, even in the wake of Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attacks. When Congress censured her for spreading false narratives, she played the victim.
Tlaib doesn’t celebrate July 4th — she trashes it. And the radical Left applauds her for it.
1. Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) – “Some People Did Something”
When it comes to anti-American sentiment, no one competes with Ilhan Omar.
The Somali-born congresswoman — who grew up in a dictatorship, then fled to the U.S. and rose to power thanks to American freedom — has made a career of insulting the very nation that gave her everything.
During a 2019 CAIR fundraiser, she infamously reduced the September 11 attacks to:
“Some people did something.”
Rather than apologize, Omar doubled down — claiming she was the real victim because some Americans were suspicious of her radical comments.
She’s called American soldiers parading on July 4th “fascist,” accused America of being “one of the worst countries,” and regularly promotes Somalian independence with glowing praise — while reserving her harshest rhetoric for America’s founding.
“We’re a country built on stolen land and the backs of slaves… Happy 4th of July,” she posted in 2018.
