Ten House Republicans are sabotaging President Donald Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”, the most ambitious conservative legislation in decades.
The bill promises:
-
The largest tax cuts in U.S. history
-
The deepest spending reductions ever passed
-
The toughest crackdown on illegal immigration to date
But on July 2, the House vote on a key procedural step barely passed, 213-212, with Trump allies scrambling to hold the line.
The Holdouts
According to investigative reporter Nick Sortor, the 10 GOP members willing to tank Trump’s legacy are:
-
Andy Biggs
-
Lauren Boebert
-
Andrew Clyde
-
Neal Dunn (FL)
-
Andy Harris
-
Dan Meuser
-
Andy Ogles
-
Scott Perry
-
Chip Roy
-
Thomas Massie
These names now stand as roadblocks to MAGA.
Rep. Thomas Massie confirmed to NOTUS that he has a “vote bloc of 10” prepared to block final passage.
Why the Revolt?
A memo leaked to CNN revealed the House Freedom Caucus is objecting to the Senate’s version of the bill, citing:
-
Taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries for both adults and minors
-
Illegal migrants allowed to keep Medicaid
-
Parents here illegally could open Trump’s new child savings accounts
-
Failure to fully repeal the Green New Deal
-
Hundreds of billions in climate pork and handouts
In short, they’re throwing the baby out with the bathwater — and risking Trump’s entire domestic agenda.
Trump Steps In
President Trump is taking personal control of negotiations, holding one-on-one meetings with holdouts. Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett, once a no, now says he’s leaning yes.
“The president was very informative,” Burchett told CNN. “We’re going to go over everything and make sure we got all our facts straight.”
Final Push
The procedural vote is still being held open as leadership tries to sway the final few holdouts. If this vote clears, the House will immediately move to:
-
A vote to bring Trump’s agenda to the floor
-
A final passage vote later today
GOP Members Fire Back
While some GOP lawmakers are digging in, others are fighting hard to save the bill:
-
Rep. Andrew Clyde introduced an amendment to strike suppressor and firearm registration laws.
-
Rep. Andy Ogles wants to replace the Senate’s watered-down bill with the stronger House version.
-
Rep. Scott Perry blasted the Green New Scam, saying the Senate failed miserably in backing Trump’s promise to restore American energy dominance.
-
Rep. Dan Meuser warned that failure to pass this bill means a $4 trillion tax hike on 165 million Americans and 33 million small businesses.
