Christian Nurse Suspended After Reporting Doctor’s Remarks About Kirk’s Assassination

A New Jersey nurse has filed a lawsuit after she says she was suspended for reporting a doctor who allegedly “cheered and celebrated” the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The suit was filed Friday in Bergen County Superior Court by 33-year-old Lexi Kuenzle, a nurse at Englewood Health.

Confrontation at Hospital

According to the complaint, Dr. Matthew Jung openly mocked Kirk’s death in front of staff and patients.

Kuenzle said she immediately confronted him, asking: “You’re a doctor. How could you say someone deserved to die?”

Her attorney, John Coyle, said she challenged whether Jung could uphold the Hippocratic Oath while celebrating political violence.

The lawsuit claims Jung later tried to smooth things over by offering to “buy lunch” for the offended staff.

Kuenzle instead reported the incident to hospital management.

She also posted about it on social media after returning home.

Kuenzle said she was soon suspended without pay while an investigation was launched.

She was later told termination was possible, according to the lawsuit.

The case alleges retaliation and discrimination because of her Christian faith.

The lawsuit accuses the hospital of violating the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination.

It also cites the state’s Conscientious Employee Protection Act.

Coyle said Englewood created a hostile work environment for his client.

Kuenzle is demanding a jury trial.

She is also seeking monetary damages, though no figure has been specified.

Her attorney described the case as a clear-cut example of retaliation.

Hospital Statement

Englewood Health acknowledged the dispute but said both the doctor and nurse were suspended.

Officials said the move was made “to allow time for a thorough and fair investigation.”

They denied reports that Kuenzle had been fired.

As of Sunday morning, Jung’s profile was no longer listed on Englewood Health’s website.

Hospital officials have not confirmed whether he remains employed.

Public Reaction

The case has drawn widespread attention online.

Conservatives praised Kuenzle for speaking up against what they called medical hypocrisy.

Supporters rallied behind her on social media.
